I originally created this piece because I didn't think it was fair that female twi'leks are always so hot, while the males usually look like Bib Fortuna or Orn Free Taa. Males get a charisma bonus in the RPG too, so why shouldn't they look like it? Of course, since then I've seen plenty of good-looking twi'lek males floating around DA (I'm looking at you, Kaernen), so it's not as revolutionary as when I first drew this.
For the background, I was trying to imagine what some of the underground cities on Ryloth might look like. I don't follow the EU that much, so I'm not sure if they've already been depicted.
This character isn't really anyone specific. Maybe a future love interest for Narruna?

Awesome pic. You're right how there isn't much love for the male twi'lek, but I think in universe the same attraction goes towards males. They are also known for being hardy warriors so I can see them in the ranks of the Rebellion as well as prized gladiators for hutts...and maybe they get invited up to the hutts chambers for an after part, they are hermaphroditic, the hutts. Regardless, awesome pic and cool ideas. Also I could see him and Narruna hooking up.
